This play, based on Kipling’s tale, guides us into the world of deep forest, and the world of the animals living there.
The peace in the wood can’t be disturbed, except maybe by one of the animals: the curious little elephant who has a lot of questions to ask all the time. The animals got tired of the constant bother; therefore, they send him away. During his long way, he faces many dangerous adventures, until one of them causes a twist in the story: the little elephant becomes an honored member of the wood’s community.

„The adventures of Paprikajancsi are ageless because they tell stories about human stupidity and also about goodness in the world. The first one – as we know – is limitless, while the second one is slowly fading. According to the hundred years old experience, every trouble can be handled with a little smartness. The story shows these things, using historical methods of puppetry and having self-deprecating humor. We need to laugh and smile at our mistakes to evolve.” – Vadas László, the director.
The courage, wiseness, and vigilancy of Paprikajancsi helps him to win through the devil, in a story full of twists and adventures. The actors are playing more than ten roles, using hand puppets.

“Hansel and Gretel is one of the most well-known European fairy tales, of Nordic origins and penned by the Grimm Brothers. Its message has an elevating undertone: a brother’s love and solidarity that can defeat the forces of evil. The love between brother and sister is everlasting, protected by a higher, spiritual realm. They represent the order within the world’s chaos. Hansel cannot exist without Gretel and Gretel cannot live without Hansel. Together they are a single character. Each of them take turns in leading when the other is in danger. Like most Nordic tales, the forest is a significant space, full of mysteries and dangers. However, this dark forest full of evil spirits and demons always has a meadow, an island of hope. It is an ambivalent space.
I wish that the little spectators in the audience to feel, along with the show, that there is guidance. Children are the incarnation of innocence and goodwill of the world, and for that they will always be defended.” – director, Varga Ibolya

The story of the bad wolf is known by most of us, but this was a long time ago. Meanwhile, the world has changed, the population aged and the youngsters immigrated in order to find jobs…
Then, the iron-toothed monsters with steel blades arrived, and they plucked all the trees, one by one, leaving the ridges empty. Alone, in a deserted land, our hero, The Wolf, gathered his belongings and went into the unknown to try his luck, in another world, in another forest.
The story of the migrant wolf starts like any other migration, with a guide who helps him cross the border – or the sea – and relocates him into another world. What will happen once he arrives there? It is the story of those who seek „the best of the worlds”.

Written by Hans Christian Andersen, The Ugly Duckling is still one of the most beautiful stories about coming of age. A swan egg accidentally ends up in a duck’s nest, so out of this egg emerges a larger, an “uglier”, a different kind of “duckling” than any of the others. Being the object of all the shenanigans, pranks and ironies, the little swan has no other choice than to run away from this world, nurturing the hope that one day he may find a better place for himself.
Can our little swan persist through all the perils of the wilderness and the meddling of others? Let’s find out together. All we can say for now, is that some pleasant surprises await him as spring arrives.

In a barren and dark castle, where every little thing is black, there lives a witch together with her tomcat, named Alfonso.
Bothered by the fact that the tomcat becomes invisible in the black castle, the witch uses her magic in order to change Alfonso in a green tomcat. His life gets suddenly worse: he cannot longer sleep on the couch because now he can be seen, he cannot longer climb the chandelier because he is caught, he cannot longer sneek into the bed because he is chased away into the garden, … in the green garden we may add!
Outraged, the witch changes the colour of his fur again, she makes it multicoloured, such that now he looks like a parrot.
Poor little tomcat! He takes off in a far tree at the edge of the garden, where chattering birds, of all types and colour, laugh at him. The tomcat sobbs tremendously, melting the witch’s heart, who is now embarrased by her doings.
Then the witch removes the spell and the tomcat is happy again. In order to avoid the troubles again, a last spell changes the gloomy and dark castle into a multicoloured one.

”The adventures of the little rooster chased away from his home in Ion Creangă’s tale: The Little Purse with Two Half-pennies, are being retold in an original and colourful way in Decebal Marin’s play. The Little Purse with Two Half-pennies is an ingeniously constructed and vibrant puppet show, with exquisite puppets and actors performing on the stage. The director opted for a highly versatile scenic design and so the constantly changing décor demands different puppet types as well. In Decebal Marin’s version, the tale of The Little Purse with Two Half-pennies becomes a luscious show, which boosts enthusiasm and encourages the active participation of the children, while providing entertainment for the adults”.

“Andersen’s story conveys a heart-warming message about friendship with affection and tenderness, in a universe dominated by ice, both literally and figuratively speaking. The challenges Gerda has to face and overcome with great effort and sacrifice, in order to test her devotion to Edgar, reveal the strength of an developing character. While maintaining the narrative and the key moments, I still consider that the prologue is the turning point of the show – the building and the shattering of the mirror, the scattering of the distorted pieces and its reassembly in the end – all these constitute a spectacular literary cohesion.”
